Our most popular adult class is an ideal setting for those with an interest in acting,  even performance experience, but little or no training. Students will gain a clear understanding of the acting craft, and discover what acting is truly about. (Hint: it is NOT about the words.) If you have any interest at all in acting, this is the class you need to get started.

AUDITIONING

ONE-DAY WORKSHOp

 SATURDAY JULY 8

10:00am - 1:00pm

$75.00

Level: Beginner to Advanced

Auditioning, both with cold readings and monologues, is a skill that all actors must master, but many just don’t get. This workshop will prepare you to professionally approach any audition from the moment you enter the room.

INSTRUCTOR: CIE PETERSON

DIRECTING ONE-DAY WORKSHOP

 SATURDAY JULY 15

10:00am - 2:00pm

$99.00

Level: Beginner-Intermediate

Make no mistake about it, directing is a skill that far transcends moving actors around the stage like chess pieces. This directing primer is for any adult interested in trying their hand as a director for the first time, as well as a skills development workshop for amateur directors with some prior experience, such as community theater or middle/high school. If directing a show is in your future, this workshop will teach you how to do it purposefully, skillfully, and well.

INSTRUCTOR: CIE PETERSON

MEISNER TRAINING

TWO-DAY WORKSHOP

SATURDAY JULY 22 and SATURDAY JULY 29

10:00am - 2:00pm

$199.00

Level: Beginner-Advanced

The actor training methodology developed by Sanford Meisner is taught in some of the finest conservatories and universities across the country, however, outside these venues it is rare to have the opportunity to study this technique. Over the course of two extended sessions, students will be introduced to Meisner’s training system, beginning with his fundamental exercise, known as “repetition.” Despite the short time frame, you will gain a deep understanding of this remarkably organic approach to acting that will have you re-examining what it means to actively listen (both on stage and off) and how to be present and available in each moment.

INSTRUCTOR: CIE PETERSON
