SEPTEMBER 14 - October 19

Open to ages 11 through adults, all levels of experience!

Audition pieces, songs within musicals and cabaret numbers all tell stories and communicate character to the audience.  This class will focus on techniques for character development through song.   Participants are encouraged to bring in a song they are singing for a show, or for a future audition.   The class will cover close-reading of lyrics, analysis of the musical ”clues” within a number, and acting techniques that help singers through difficult vocal moments in a song.    Session will end with a small recital/musical review.

Wednesday & thursday 10:00am-1:00pm $149

Auditions can feel overwhelming, especially because there are so many different kinds. This class will demystify the process and provide tips, techniques, and resources to help you audition with monologues, cold readings and songs. We'll also discuss how to handle the other parts of the audition, the ones not involving text.

Week Two -JUly 18th-21st

Monday and tuesday 10:00am-1:00pm $149

This class will begin with basic movement and vocal training, and then delve deeper to explore the various choices an actor can make with face, body, and voice to create distinct characters that appear different from even the actor portraying them

Wednesday & Thursday 10:00am-1:00pm $149

Working instinctually and without inhibition are the hallmarks of good improv, and good improv is invaluable training tool for actors. In fact, this fun but challenging class is perfect for anyone who wants to learn to be truly spontaneous, flexible, responsive, and able to live in the moment.
