Modern rap and Shakespeare go hand in hand. What?!  Yup!  William Shakespeare is one of the most prolific playwrights of all time and his work influences modern theater in so many ways. But students struggle to understand the complexity and context of his writings.  In this class we will break down the works of Shakespeare while applying it to contemporary prose, music rhythms and themes in this very fun approach.

This class will focus on the critical (but often over looked and under practiced) skills for young actors. We will learning how to work with a scene partner, how to analyze text, and how to apply the essential skills of listening and reacting (dialouge can be one of the least important things you do!)  The basics and terminology of scene study and script analysis are introduced, then more fully explained, defined and practiced.  Scene Works provides each student with a comprehensive set of tools and techniques to help young actors make specific and authentic choices in order to stand out in a performance.
